".....Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said here am I; send me".
Isaiah 6:8
Rev. Pedro S. Williams was born on April 05, in the quiet community
of the Bight to the proud parents of Mr. Arthur Williams and Deaconess
Winefred McIntosh.
Like all children at the age of four years he began his
primary education. He was enrolled and attended the Ianthe Pratt
Primary under the tutelage of the school's patron, Mrs. Ianthe S.
Pratt. During his first sitting of the GSAT, formally the Common
Entrance Examination he was successful and was offered a place at the
Majorie Basden High School in South Caicos. Rev. Williams was
transferred to Providenciales to attend Clement Howell High during its
inception a year later.
During his time at Clement Howell High
School he served as prefect and as Head boy of the institution in his
final year. In 1989 he was among the representatives who represented
the Turks and Caicos Islands during the yearly CARICOM Youth Conference
held at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Barbados. Again in
1991 he had the privilege of attending the very same conference, only
this time it was held in our beautiful by nature Island, Providenciales
at the then Turquoise Reef Hotel. Rev. Williams always knew what he
wanted to do and put his entire being into achieving it. It was no
surprise when he graduated from High school in July of 1991 as best
performing student of that year.
Shortly after graduation, Rev. Williams joined the
staff at the Bank of Nova Scotia where he worked for four years until
he was 'called' to the ministry. During his time at the Bank of Nova
Scotia, he worked as Teller in the Customer Service Department and as
Senior Deposit Accounting Clerk. Rev. Pedro was not at ease because he
realized that he had a calling on his life to go into the ministry.
Obeying God to him was more important than any thing,
even when others think otherwise. Despite the obstacles he encountered
in the beginning he was determined to make himself available to God's
call. In September of 1995 he enrolled at the Barbados Baptist College
to pursue a two years study in Theology. He served as Vice President of
the Student Council and Head of Recreation Committee during his time at
the college. He graduated in June of 1997.
On returning home he was appointed to Shepherd the Flock at the Jericho
Baptist Church, the Bight, Providenciales. He was furthr ordained in November 2001, and has been serving the Jericho Baptist Church in the capacity of Pastor, Teacher, Counselor, and Mentor for over 10 years. Under his leadership the church have experienced Spiritual, Numerical, and Structural development. Lives are been transformed as God through this under Shepherd Evangelize the unbeliever, Disciple and Equip Christians for Mission and Ministry. Numerically our attendance has grown tremendously, and has outgrown our previous place of worship. Jericho Baptist Church has relocated in its current edifice that now host two services on Sundays, 8:00am and 11:00am, and a televised program "Touching Lives" which is being aired through WIV channel 4 on Sundays at 5:00pm.
Apart from
being the Shepherd of the Jericho Baptist Church, Pastor also served as
President of the Providenciales Ministerial Fellowship for two consecutive years, and currently serves the President of the Turks & Caicos Islands Baptist Union of Churches.
Rev Williams has completed his bachelors degree in Biblical Theology via correspondence. He believes that if we are going to be relevant in this season we must be constantly preparing ourselves to be more equipped for the Masters use. He is now pursuing a higher degree with The Masters Divinity School in Evansville, Indiana.
Although Pastor's life is a busy one he still finds
time for some of his favorite hobbies, like fishing and playing
basketball. For a man who is so young he has a full life, he is never
bored or ever idle.
In his obedience to God's word that said, 'It is not good that the
man should be alone: I will make him a help meet for him', (Genesis
2:18) Pastor Williams met, fell in love with and join in marriage on
March 21, 1998 to First Lady Tancita Williams. This union in blessed with two beautiful daughters, Tanshel (Princess) and Traeshel (Angel) Williams. This family stands as a testament for Christ, and will continue to be a paradigm in this era, being agents of change who will continue the revolution Christ started, all for God's glory.
Rev. Pedro Williams is a devoted and committed man of God, Pastor,
husband, father, son, brother, uncle and cousin. His is truly a man of
faith and prayer. He knows that the work of a pastor is challenging in
these trying times however, he takes comfort in knowing that "He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus
Christ. Jericho Baptist Church has been favored by God to have Rev Pedro S. Williams as its under shepherd. Through his relationship with Christ, God's kingdom has grown tremendously over the years, and we believe " THE BEST IS YET TO COME".
